DECA 2023/2024 PROJECTS

Project Management Community Awareness

This year, Peyton Ausderau, Cole Elizondo, and Elle Lassiter are competing in Project Management Community Awareness, PMCA, event, The Literacy Lighthouse. They are working to raise awareness for childhood illiteracy within Sumner County as well as provide reading resources and programs that are available to anyone.

Independent Business Plan

Ryelynn Powers and Alena Peacock are competing in EIB (Independent Business Plan). Their project focuses on a business plan for a Christmas themed coffee shop for Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The coffee shop will include; Christmas flavored drinks, small bakery items, as well as regular coffee options. The coffee shops highlights will be their Marshmallow Pops that come in many flavors and their year-round Christmas spirit. They are super excited to bring Christmas a little early to DECA.

Project Management Sales Project

Peyton Ausderau, Hailey Chastain, and Rebeca Graham are competing this year in PMSP with, Camp Fest.

Project Management Career Development 

Kayla Loftus and Rebecca Graham are competing in PMCD (Project Management Career Development). They will be working with kids with special needs to help them build portfolios and learn about developing their career and learning how to get a job. They will also work with freshman at the school and teach them about professionalism and using your marketing skills in the real world.

Integrated Marketing Campaign Event

This year, Ryley Boyer and Briley Hitt are competing in the IMCE (Intergrated marketing campaign event). They are partnering with Kristi Rowan to promote and help expand the event Mistletoe Market. This event is held to boost personal vendors markets and businesses across the United States, and display a taste of sweetness to both the food and retail industry.

Project Management Community Giving 

Payton Ausderau and Ashlee Welbern are competing in PMCG (Project Management Community Giving). Their project is representing childhood cancer research and funding a non profit organization to give back to the children affected by cancer. They have partnered with a childhood cancer organization called Giving to Gilda to help bring this important cause to their school and community. Look for their banquets and opportunities to support throughout the year!

Hospitality and Tourism Operation Research Project

Jamie Goad, Audrey Nielson, and Katelyn Preston are competing in HTOR (Hospitality and Tourism operations research). They have chosen to partner with the business Just Crusin' Plus to determine how the can add in hyper personalization to their data base to maximize sales and customer satisfaction. They will research solutions and conduct research to find the best ways to help them out!

International Business Plan

Maddox Prichard, Chase Ausderau, and Jesse Davis, are competing in IBP with, The Measuring Shovel.

Integrated Marketing Campaign Service

Nia Cid, Bella Balturshot, and Aly Cady (not pictured) are competing in Integrated Marketing Campaign Service (IMCS). They are partnering with Children Are People, a local after school program for at risk children, to raise awareness for their program. They are utilizing social media and hosting an open house to raise money for the program!

Business Solutions Project

Anthony Curto and Gavie Ann Smith are competing in PMBS (Business solutions project). They have partnered with TN Mental Wellness, a local counseling and mental health center, to help expand their target market and help more people prioritize their mental health. Anthony and Gavie Ann are excited to take home some glass their senior year all while helping a local small business!

School Based Enterprise Project

Lauren Johnson, Ivy Grace Lacefield, and Hailey Chastain are competing in SBE (School Based Enterprise). Their goal is to provide goods to make the needs of the market in the school setting. They will working to improve and generate more sales for the schools Stop Shop. Participating in SBE is an effective way of preparing them for deca competitive events and future higher learning careers.

Project Management Financial Literacy

Bailey Wilson and Lucy Jo Freels are competing in PMFL (Project Management Financial Literacy). They are teaching up and coming leaders, our schools peer buddies, and the elementary school the importance of finances. They created a ciricullium called the Banking Barnyard to interest their chosen demographic.

Professional Selling Event

Zach Valdez is competing in PSE (Professional Selling Event) for his senior year. He will designing an accountability system for at home employees clocking their own hours at a hypothetical business called Valdez Management Consulting. He is excited to compete one more time and hopes to make it to nationals again this year!

Sports and Entertainment Operations Research

Miles Watson and Quinten Hall are SCOR (Sports and Entertainment Operations Research). They will be working with a sports team to help create a marketing plan to better reach consumers on a more personal level. They will be partnering with the Predators to increase hyperpersonalization. They are so excited to be working with a national hockey team and hope to get to nationals!

Business Service Operations

Addie Bean, Kealey Jackson, and Elle Williams are competing in BOR (Business Service Operations) for their senior year. They will be researching the Salt Med Spa, a local small business owned by a Station Camp DECA alumni. The spa is treatment for respiratory problems and a spa all in one. Addie, Kealey, and Elle will come up with a way to hyper personalize the business. They want their customers to feel as a friend instead of just another person.

Founded in 2003, the Station Camp DECA program has grown to be the largest chapter in the state of Tennessee. We have a proud tradition of excellence, having competed and won national and international competitions. Our members have gone on to prestigious colleges and successful careers.
